Income streams for Creative People

Are you someone who doesn’t want to settle on your 9-5 job? Or are you looking for other ways to earn money? Just like you, I have been in constant search of different ways to make money online. I came across different articles that talk about it, they are extremely helpful tho there are times where the information can get a little bit too overwhelming especially for beginners. That is one of the reasons I came up with this topic. To discuss these 3 income streams suitable for beginners.

I often hear and see people working on 7-9 different income streams. That is great, they must be working on it for a couple of years now but for those who are starting, I don’t recommend trying all those streams at once. Because it will just tend to divide your attention from focusing on a certain area and being good at it.

Remember the key to establishing a continuous flow of income is consistency and it is hard to achieve it if you try to learn everything at once.

Here are the top 3 income stream ideas that you can try.

  1. Freelancing

Entry-level designers should try to get freelance work. Why? Because there are so many part-time and freelance job opportunities online and it doesn’t require you to be in the country where they are situated. You can work on the project anywhere. Aside from that bunch of businesses today are on a budget. Meaning experience is not a big deal for them. They give chances to entry-level designers that have an affordable rate.

Since you are still starting This is a great opportunity for you to gain experience and develop your skills while being paid for the work. After accumulating enough experience you can eventually increase your rate and earn much more.

2. Selling your art

Since you have the skillset to create amazing designs why not try selling your work online. This may not be a fast money maker since the competition is tight but if you constantly work on it, you can make a lot.

Wondering where to start? I recommend you to determine what area of design you are good at then list them down. Pick out the ones you enjoy doing and from there figure out your niche. A niche refers to that certain sector in the market where you will base your products from. For example, you want to create a Real estate Instagram template. Your target audience will be those in the real estate industry like agents, brokers, etc.

3. Creating a blog or a YouTube channel

This is my top 3 because you can set up Google Adsense on your YouTube videos and websites which is where you can earn money. Google Adsense is a form of website monetization. If you can get people to go to your website or to watch your videos you can earn from the ads that will show up there.

Starting it is quite easy and straightforward. The challenging part for me is maintaining it because it requires time and effort to put up good content. You also need to be consistent in uploading videos on your YouTube channel or writing blogs on your website. In addition, you need to constantly promote it.

But please don’t get intimidated by it. As I believe that it is worth your time. Because it can eventually open doors of opportunities like connection, following, brand deals, etc.

With these,

I hope I was able to help you gain ideas on the 3 different income streams you can try as early as now. If you want to know why I recommend you start right now. Read this article. 5 Reasons Why You Should Start Selling Digital Products Now.
